Buckeye Lake Bait Company (BLBC) is the culmination of 10 years of apprenticeship, a 20 year history, and Home of the "Original" Ron E Bee crankbait. Based upon the original Ron E Bee design and a "One-at-a-Time" manufacturing process, each crankbait begins with a specific thickness and wood density for natural buoyancy, fitted with a continuous wire-harness, hand sanded, hardened, cured, water-proofed, and painted. Then each diving bill is punched to the exact specification, fitted for the proper running depth, and finished to the exact standards of the "Original".

Many of us have participated in regional and national BASS tournaments and realize the importance of a competative advantage. Our uniquely designed Flat Sided, Foil Finished, Balsa Crankbaits offer advantages that will help anglers maintain that competitive edge.

For years The Baby Pig and LUV PLug have been known as the "Go-To" standard for the tournament professional as well as the weekend warrior. BLBC is proud to continue to offer these styles as well as the deeper diving Pig Dog and SAM.

Additionally, three new models are available to fill your topwater requiements.

• The Izzit has been designed as a "Wake/Wobble" bait. By keeping your rod tip high during the retrieve, the Izzit will wake the surface. As you lower the rod tip, the bait will run sub-surface and down to 4 feet.
• The Prop Dog and Prop Puppy will provide explosive top water action. The Prop Dog is 3 inches long and has two prop blades which create fantastic sound, splash, and action.
• The Prop Puppy is a more subtle top water bait. Simply twitching the bait will create a flipping sound just like natural shad flipping the surface. You can also walk the dog!
• Each bait features Chicken Feather tails.

Crank Baits

One of the unique requirements of the tourmnament fisherman is being able to find a crankbait that is going to match the baitfish present at various times throughout the tournament season. Throughout the Midwest, springtime shad average about 1 1/2 inches. By fall, those shad which have survived have doubled in size. Not only does size matter, but most of the commercial crank baits have a rounded, plastic body. Experience has taught the successful tournament angler that the closer in size and shape his lure is too the natural hatch, the greater the success in catching the winning stringer. BLBC continues to manufacturer the leader in Flat Sided, Foil Crankbait which reflect the natural look of Shad. Each crank bait is Hand Crafted, air brushed and Finished in a Super Tough, Epoxy coating.

Buzz'r Baits

There are hundreds of buzz baits on the market. Most buzz baits have a single blade and depending on the rotation of the blade, the lure will either run to the right or to the left. At BLBC we have designed a buzz bait that has 2 counter-rotating blades. This means that when you retrieve the buzz bait, it tracks straight with the additional benefit of the two blades clanking against each other - creating a unique sound.

Rattlin' Prop Baits

RAM Baits has re-created the classic 3 inch double prop bait and the 2 1/2 inch prop puppy. Each prop bait includesd a "rattle" chamber and a Chicken Feather tail. All prop baits are Hand Carved, air brushed and Finished in a super tough, epoxy coating.

Specialty Lures

Deer Hair Mouse - Based on the design and specifications of Chris Helm, who taught the tying basics, RAM Baits has reproduced the Deer Hair Mouse in smaller size for the angler who wants to test his/her skills with the Fly Rod.
